What stays on your device
Your trip plans and saved places are stored on your device—in browser storage on the website and protected app storage on iPhone. Seek Boston does not require an account and does not receive this local trip data. Removing the app or clearing site data deletes it. In the iPhone app, live Google listing details saved in a plan are cleared within 30 days. The website's My Trip screen can export or restore a local JSON backup; Seek Boston does not receive that file.
Location
If you choose “Use my location,” your browser or iPhone asks for permission. Your coordinates are used to center nearby results and are sent to the routing provider only when calculating a route. Seek Boston does not retain your precise location, and you can revoke permission in browser or iPhone settings.
Search
When you submit a search, the words you enter are sent to Seek Boston’s server and forwarded to Google Places to return Boston-only results. Seek Boston does not create a search history or user profile and does not intentionally retain search terms after answering the request.
Google Maps and Places
The map and live place-search features use Google Maps Platform. Google may process location, device, and technical information needed to provide maps, listings, ratings, opening status, photos, and directions under the Google Privacy Policy. Seek Boston does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Other services
Road-network estimates use the OpenStreetMap routing service, which receives route coordinates to fulfill the request. Current weather on the website may use Open-Meteo. Opening an official venue, photo, or directions link takes you to that provider’s service and policy.
Questions and deletion
Because Seek Boston has no accounts, there is no server-side profile to delete. Delete saved plans inside the app, remove the app, or clear the website’s storage. For privacy questions, use the support page.
