Privacy choices and data requests

Data stored on your device

Guest trips, bookmarks, app preferences, and privacy choices stay on your device. Search and route requests are processed to return a response and are not intentionally retained by Seek Boston as a personal history.

Delete website data

This removes Seek Boston trips, saved places, preferences, offline files, and privacy choices from this browser. It cannot delete data held independently by a third-party service you chose to use.

iPhone app

In the iPhone app, open Profile, Settings, then Data and privacy. Choose Delete all local app data. Removing the app also removes its protected local trip file. Revoke location access separately in iOS Settings if you previously granted it.

Data stored with your account

Optional accounts can store identity information, profile preferences, trip data, collections, activity, recommendation choices, memories, and private memory photos. Shared plans store membership, invite codes, stops, suggestions, notes, and votes visible to members of that plan.

Delete your account

Open Profile, Settings, and use Delete Account while signed in. After confirmation, Seek Boston deletes the authentication account, account-owned database records, and private memory uploads. If you own a shared plan, deleting the account removes that plan for its other members; contributions attached to your account are also removed. Where applicable, Seek Boston also requests revocation of the account’s Sign in with Apple authorization. Exports do not include passwords, authentication credentials, or security tokens. Local data is cleared only after server deletion succeeds. Pausing sync, signing out, uninstalling, or clearing local data does not delete cloud data. Export your account data and any desired trip backup before deletion if you want to keep a copy. Deletion cannot be undone. Limited copies may remain temporarily in provider backups or security logs until overwritten, or when legal preservation is required.

Third-party data

Seek Boston cannot delete information independently controlled by Google, Apple, MBTA, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap providers, or a venue website. Use that provider's privacy controls for data it controls.

Request a privacy review

If you cannot access your account or believe Seek Boston still holds data associated with you, use the support page to request a privacy review, or email privacy@seekboston.com. We will acknowledge the request, explain any information needed to verify that it concerns your account, and respond as required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request, but we may ask for proof of authority and verify the account holder directly. Never send passwords or authentication credentials with a request.
